Oil production in two blocks reaches a level that had not been reached six years ago

According to Sonangol's Exploration and Production Business Unit (UNEP), a "remarkable benchmark" was reached this week, with Blocks 3/05 and 3/05A, operated by it, achieving a daily production of more than 25,000 barrels, a level that has not been seen for more than six years.

This increase in production from 16,000 to 25,000 barrels per day "reflects the success of the strategies implemented by the unit", says Sonangol in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

The milestone was reached on December 10th, with the partners that make up the contracting groups for these blocks expressing their satisfaction with the exceptional performance. "This is simply historic! It has never happened since we joined the Block in 2019. We couldn't end 2023 better and this deserves our thanks and congratulations", said Maurel&Prom.

Sonangol states that the result was achieved taking into account an intervention campaign focused on maintaining the integrity of the facilities and restarting production in Block 3/05A, which played a crucial role in achieving this milestone.

"Production progress highlights not only operational efficiency, but also the team's commitment to overcoming challenges and optimizing performance, consolidating UNEP's position in the sector.
