According to a statement from the authority, the minister "found several enterprises in the sector he manages in that region of the country".
During his visit to Cuanza Sul, the holder of the Energy and Water portfolio "started by visiting the electrification works in the south of Calulo", in a project for the electrification of the town of Quibala "with the construction of a substation and distribution networks to benefit around 5630 inhabitants".
According to the authority, the work began in January this year, with an execution level of 81 percent.
João Baptista Borges also visited the construction work on a high voltage substation connected to the national grid, which began this year and is scheduled for completion next year.
"The work is 75 percent complete and will provide 150 direct jobs," the statement said, adding that when completed it will benefit 28 communities in that district.
Furthermore, the governor also assessed "the degree of inoperability of the Quibala Water Supply System" which, according to the minister, "must be rehabilitated to promptly supply thirty thousand people".
"Already on the way to the province of Huambo, the governor noted the level of implementation of the first Transformer Poles that will supply electricity to the aforementioned communities", the note also reads.
At the end of the verification visit, the Minister of Energy and Water, cited by Angop, informed that 25 thousand consumers in Libolo and Quibala will benefit from the expansion of electricity, starting next year.
In addition to the minister, the delegation included the presidents of the Boards of Directors of PRODEL, Pedro Afonso, and ENDE, Hélder Adão, as well as the national water director, Elsa Ramos, and other senior officials from the ministry, supervised and partner companies.
