The official, who was speaking as part of a visit to the future airport, in which she was accompanied by the first president of the Court of Auditors of Senegal, Mamadou Faye, said that "this is a major work", a "calling card" for the country and the citizens as well as "an open door to the future".

"It was in fact pleasant to see that this is a major work, it is a business card for all of Angola, for all Angolans, it is an open door to the future, to the growth of Angola, in the various aspects, not only cultural, but also economic", said the president of the TC, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Exalgina Gâmboa also mentioned that the revenues attributed to this expense are "being well used".

"The Court of Auditors can verify that the revenues allocated to make this large expenditure are being well used and, therefore, we are satisfied with the results", she said, quoted by RNA.

In turn, his Senegalese counterpart highlighted the installations of the new airport, hoping that it will contribute to the development of the economy and simplify the free movement of people and goods.

Speaking to the press, cited by Angop, at the end of the visit, the official also wished that this enterprise serves as an impetus for the development of relations with his country in the most diverse sectors, referring also that the site and dimension express the relevance that Angola attaches to airport facilities.

According to Mamadou Faye, quoted by Angop, this airport will be one of the four largest on the continent, suggesting the eventuality of reaching 15 million passengers annually.

José Carlos Neto, director of Technical Services at the Court of Auditors, also quoted by Angop, said that the court is responsible for overseeing contracts signed by the Government above a certain amount and, in that sense, the visit served to ascertain the level of compliance of the contract, in the optimal physical and financial execution, deemed compatible.

It should be noted that Mamadou Faye is visiting Angola between 12 and 16 December, in the category of president of the Supreme Control Institutions in Africa.
