The Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’Abreu, reiterated that the opening of the new Luanda International Airport remains for next year. The information was released this Thursday, during his speech at the 41st Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization, to be held in Canada.

In his speech, the official mentioned that two major events will mark 2023, including the inauguration of the new airport.

The opening of the new Luanda international airport, a modern infrastructure with a capacity for 50 million passengers and extensive logistics facilities for cargo handling in line with the environmental standards and principles established in the aeronautical industry and its sustainability for the future", said the minister.

The other event, he continued, will be the completion of the Universal Security Oversight Audit in the first quarter of 2023.

Ricardo d'Abreu also said that they are "confident that he will prove that nothing is impossible with a strong commitment, the will to make the appropriate reforms aimed at economic growth, job creation and above all prosperity".

The event, which will run until October 7, will be attended by ICAO Member States, among other international organizations.
