:

"A dimensional stone development center will be built in the first half of 2023, in the province of Namibe, in the city of Moçâmedes", reads a statement from the Provincial Government of Namibe, which VerAngola had access to.

According to information provided by Romeu Ribeiro, consultant to the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, quoted in the note, the hub will be built "between the branches of the Moçâmedes Railway and the two lanes of National Road No. 100 and No. 280".

The note also reports that, among other areas, the project includes "a center for the enhancement of ornamental stones, attached to the Geological Institute of Angola, based in Huíla province, with a professional center with boarding school for 24 trainees and a Porto Seco".

An industrial area is also planned, which will have "22 warehouses for the installation of factories that will serve to house values of benefits from the rocks, as well as to produce the necessary equipment for the industries".

The official also informed that this pole aims to value the country's rocks, and its creation will generate more jobs as well as "increase income and revenue collection for the State coffers".

In his view, the project will further qualify professionals in the sector and bring development to the southern region.

"It is a structuring type project that will contribute in the presence of other industries", he predicted, quoted in the note.
