In a message alluding to the Mining Workers' Day, which is celebrated on April 27, the official took stock of the achievements recorded during the legislative term, having highlighted the entry of multinationals such as Angloamerican, Rio Tinto, Tosyali and Think of the country.
The holder of the Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas portfolio, also referred that "as a result of the confidence and fruit of the reforms" in the sector, there was an improvement in the business environment.
"As a result of the confidence in our work, as a result of the reforms initiated and implemented in our sector, under the leadership of His Excellency João Lourenço, President of the Republic, and the consequent improvement of the business environment, we were able to bring to the country multinationals such as Angloamerican, Rio Tinto, Tosyali and Pensana that add value to our flourishing mining industry", said the minister.
In his message, made available on the guardianship's Facebook, Diamantino Azevedo also noted other "important achievements" that took place during his term, such as "the approval and implementation of the new governance model for the mining sector; the construction of the Development Pole Mineiro de Saurimo, the inauguration of diamond-cutting factories, the Technical-Professional Training Center for the technicians necessary for mining and other industrial activities and a Training Center for Diamond Appraisers and Cutters".
"We also highlight a significant increase in prospecting for minerals such as copper, nickel, cobalt, rare earth elements, niobium and phosphates, some of which are essential for the energy transition. , clay, gypsum and limestone, as well as the beginning of the exploration of gold, iron and manganese in the post-independence period", he added.
He also referred that the scenario created by covid-19 "continues to have an impact on the mobility and concentration of mining workers in their areas of action and in their activities, requiring additional efforts from all actors to ensure the regular operation of companies, contributing to the sustainable development of our country", taking the opportunity to "congratulate and thank all the workers who, in their jobs, have made extraordinary efforts to keep companies in production".
