President highlights Assunção dos Anjos’ “valuable contribution” to diplomacy

The President, João Lourenço, this Tuesday lamented the death of former Minister of Foreign Affairs Assunção dos Anjos and praised his “valuable contribution” to Angolan diplomacy.

The former ruler, who was ambassador to France, Spain and Portugal, died of illness on Monday at the age of 76.

João Lourenço highlighted the relevant functions that the diplomat carried out, as a member of the Central State Administration, in Angola and abroad, "with recognized zeal, a sense of duty and remarkable competence", according to a note sent to the media.

"Very recently, due to his extensive work experience and continuous dedication to the cause of Angola and its People, Ambassador Assunção dos Anjos exercised the honorable role of Consultant to the President of the Republic", he stressed, praising the qualities of a man "of fine treatment and possessor of vast culture".

The Chief Executive emphasized "the valuable contribution" of Assunção dos Anjos as a diplomat and expressed feelings of regret and solidarity with the family.
