Catoca wants to contribute 80 million to the state coffers in 2021

Benedito Manuel, general director of Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, located in Lunda Sul, revealed that the company estimates, next year, to contribute more than 80 million dollars to state revenues.

The responsible did not advance numbers, but indicated that the company has a plan drawn up so that revenues, in terms of invoicing, increase in 2021.

Cited by Angop, Benedito Manuel also made it known that the company is working to preserve jobs and adjust salaries. The objective is to improve the conditions of the employees.

In addition, the Catoca Mining Society will, in 2021, as part of its social responsibility, rehabilitate villages surrounding the Catoca mine.

Without revealing the value that the company intends to spend on these social projects, the responsible also said that it is part of the plans of the society to create a line of credit for young people, to encourage the creation of small businesses in the region.

The company also wants to make available a credit for more than 200 rural women and to create 150 internal scholarships for students from the most needy families in Lunda Sul.

Benedito Manuel also indicated that in partnership with the Fundação Brilhante and within the social responsibility plan of Endiama and other diamond mining companies, the creation of actions is still planned as part of the commitment established with Lunda Sul's civil society.
