Banco de Crédito do Sul tried to buy BCI in the auction won by Grupo Carrinho

Information has now been made public that Banco de Crédito do Sul (BCS) would be the second bidder in the auction on the stock exchange in which Grupo Carrinho acquired the 100,000 shares necessary for the purchase of Banco de Comércio de Indústria (BCI).

:

According to Expansão, the bank whose shareholder structure is composed of Rafael Arcanjo Kapose (47 percent), Francisca Kamia Kapose (45.00 percent), Severiano Tyihongo Kapose (5 percent), Maria do Céu Figueira (2.5 percent) percent) and Sérgio da Cunha Velho (0.5 percent), was one of the two bidders that participated in the auction, which took place on 17 December.

The Bank of Commerce and Industry was sold for 29 million dollars, the highest offer being 162,000 kwanzas for each of the 100,000 shares put up for auction. This last offer was placed on the table by Grupo Carrinho Empreendimentos, which thus acquired 100% of the capital of the financial institution.

Contrary to what was expected, BCI was thus sold to a company linked to the production and packaging of foodstuffs, instead of to another financial institution with the intention of growing in the domestic market.
