New Luanda airport certified for domestic and international flights

ATO - Temporary Operator of Dr. António Agostinho Neto (AIAAN), in the capital, announced this Thursday that he received certification to operate national and international passenger flights.

:

Commercial passenger flights on AIAAN will begin on Sunday, with the national airline TAAG, with four daily frequencies to Cabinda. The airport has already been certified for cargo operations since December 19, 2023.

It is expected that by March 2025 the other companies will transfer their operations from the current 4 de February Airport, in Luanda, to the new airport, located in the province of Icolo and Bengo.

Furthermore, the AIAAN Air Cargo Terminal obtained RA3 certification, a crucial recognition for air cargo terminals from countries outside the European Union, ensuring that operations meet international safety and quality standards.

The AIAAN is located in a total area of 75 square kilometers and has two parallel runways.

The airport was designed to receive 15 million passengers/year and 130 thousand tons of cargo.
