Cooperation with Japanese company Toyota will allow construction of the Amboim Deepwater Port

As part of João Lourenço's visit to Japan, two Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the Ministry of Transport and Japanese partners, which will strengthen the national logistics network - through the Deepwater Port of Amboim - and enhance staff training, with the creation of the CFAO Academy Angola.

The first agreement, signed with Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Toa Corporation, provides for studies for the construction of the future Amboim Deepwater Port, a structural project that will complement the country's logistics network, where the Port of Namibe already plays a prominent strategic role.

The second Memorandum was signed with CFAO Mobility Angola and includes the creation of the CFAO Academy Angola, a center of excellence focused on training national professionals in the automotive sector, contributing to the strengthening of Angolan human capital.

The Minister of Transport, Ricardo Viegas D'Abreu, emphasized that these projects consolidate strategic cooperation with Japan and represent decisive steps toward modernizing logistics, economic diversification, and enhancing national competencies.

By combining modern infrastructure and investment in human capital, the government claims to be creating the necessary foundations to strengthen the country's competitiveness and attract new private investment, consolidating the role of strategic platforms such as the Port of Namibe, according to a statement seen by VerAngola.
