An Angolan woman was appointed ambassador of the G20 Social. The name of the Angolan woman for G20 Social ambassador – aimed at discussing global social and economic issues – was proposed by South Africa, and Maria Lima considered that her appointment highlights the country's ongoing commitment to sustainable, community development and social inclusion, education, as well as improvement of the country and the region.

The person responsible, in statements to the press, cited by Angop, pointed out that her focus during the event was mainly to launch Angola through an inclusion platform, having maintained contact with companies, diplomats and the Brazilian government about how cooperate to propel the country into the global debate.

The secretary of Sociedade Mineira do Catoca for Caixa Social believes that the problems are global in nature and, therefore, the responses must also be universal.

Maria Lima also considered that there will no longer be an Economic G20 without a Social G20.

"Never again will the pyramid decide without the base having a voice because it is the bases that suffer from the impact of the decisions of world leaders", pointed out the person in charge, who, cited by Angop, considered it necessary to give more prominence to the voice of the people and of communities, as well as bringing efficiency to the debate, both in public expenses and in the budgets of companies that invest in social responsibility.

She also pointed out that she had been looking for partnerships to build an oncology hospital, adding that if she needed to send a message to companies and buyers of jewelry and diamonds, she said that "if there is a price for mining, that price is the development of communities", whose battle comes being initiated by Sodiam, Endiama, among others.

According to a note from Caixa Social do Catoca, to which VerAngola had access, at the event, Maria Lima took the opportunity to reinforce "Angola's role as an emerging nation prone to strategic partnerships on the international stage".

On the occasion, the Angolan highlighted the "importance of international collaboration for the advancement of social policies in Angola and defended an integrated approach between the public and private sector to achieve sustainable development on the African continent", the note reads.

In one of the G20 Social panels - which concerns an initiative that brings together "civil society leaders, international organizations and representatives of the private sector to discuss social challenges, such as economic inclusion, sustainability and innovation" -, Maria Lima said that it is not only an honor, but also an opportunity to highlight the country's priorities on the global stage.

"Being at G20 Social is not only an honor, but also an opportunity to highlight Angola's priorities on the global stage. Human development, social inclusion and strategic partnerships are fundamental pillars for the progress we want to achieve," pointed out Maria Lima.

In addition to participating in the event, the Angolan also held meetings with Angolan diplomats and members of the Brazilian business class.

"The meetings sought to strengthen ties between Angola and Brazil, focusing on areas such as trade, investment and cultural exchange", says the note.

Maria Lima said that the meetings were productive and "signal new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries".

"Brazil and Angola share a rich history and a vision of the future that complement each other. The moment is ripe for us to expand our economic and cultural partnership", she pointed out, cited in the note.

On the occasion, Angolan diplomats, who were also at the event, highlighted the "importance of the meeting, which reinforces the historical relationship between the two countries and creates a favorable environment for new bilateral agreements", while Brazilian businesspeople "praised the administrator's stance, recognizing the dynamism and opportunities that Angola offers as a gateway to the African market".
