According to a statement from the Provincial Government of Uíge, which cites Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the information was provided by the director of the provincial office of Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility, João da Silva Pelinganga.
João da Silva Pelinganga said there were "negotiations at the highest level", that is, between the provincial governor, ministry and the national flag company.
Thus, in statements to RNA, he added: "We have the guarantee that in January flights will resume to the province of Uíge, but adding the province of Cabinda here as an interconnection route so, in a way, there will be greater health in terms of profitability financial responsibility on the part of the national flag company, as it claims that the flights were withdrawn for profitability reasons".
According to the statement from the provincial government, the director, in his statements to RNA, also mentioned that the suspension of the national airline's air connections to the aforementioned province has negatively impacted companies and consumers.
