Closing of the Biennale marked by visits to historical monuments

The third and final day of the 3rd edition of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence – Luanda Biennial includes visits to historical monuments, such as the Agostinho Neto Memorial, the Iron Palace, among others.

Taking place in the capital since last Wednesday, the Luanda Biennial 'closes its doors' this Friday with visits to five historical sites.

According to the event program, to which VerAngola had access, the list of monuments to visit includes the Agostinho Neto Memorial, as well as the Iron Palace. The National Museum of Military History, the Currency Museum and the National Museum of Anthropology complete the list.

The Luanda Biennial took place under the motto "Education, Culture of Peace and African Citizenship, as Tools for the Sustainable Development of the Continent".

Its opening was marked by a speech by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, who highlighted Angola's active role in resolving conflicts in Africa. The head of state also participated in the panel "Young People, Actors in Promoting the Culture of Peace and Social Transformations on the Continent – High-Level Dialogue".

According to the event's spokesperson, Neto Júnior, cited by Jornal de Angola, 790 people participated in the forum, including the participation of the Presidents of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, and from Ethiopia, Sale-Work Zewed.

According to the program, the forum was composed of six panels: "Young People, Actors in Promoting the Culture of Peace and Social Transformations on the Continent – High Level Dialogue"; "Technology and Education as Tools to Achieve Gender Equality"; "The Role of Women in Peace, Security and Development Processes"; "The Process of Transforming Educational Systems: Innovative Practices and Financing in the African Context"; "The Challenges and Opportunities of Integration of the African Continent and the Prospects for Economic Growth" and "Climate Change Ethical Challenges, Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability".
