This decision comes after the Angolan ambassador to Australia, António Luvualu de Carvalho, last month, in a meeting with the owner of this platform, launched the challenge of creating a page specifically dedicated to Angola.
According to a statement from the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in the Commonwealth of Australia, to which VerAngola had access, "during the initial meeting, at the end of May", upon realizing that "the Venubooka promotional page did not contain any information about Angola, Ambassador António Luvualu de Carvalho immediately challenged the owner of the platform to create a specific page for Angola, so that in this way, the advertising of 'Made in Angola' tourism could begin in this region of the world".
After this initial meeting, the statement says, "the CEO of the Australian tour operator, John Teres, went to the Angolan embassy in Canberra to express the interest of the company he runs in promoting Angolan tourist destinations, hotels and conference centers in Australia and in the Asia-Pacific region".
With the challenge accepted, the CEO of the tourism platform "presented at the audience granted to him at the Angolan Embassy in Canberra the work that he and his team have already done, which will allow Angola's tourist attractions to be available to the Australian public and the region from now on".
On that occasion, the person in charge requested direct contact with the Angolan Ministry of Tourism, "so that joint work can be carried out as soon as possible, aiming at greater publicity for Angola's name and image, not only in the Commonwealth of Australia, but also in countries in Asia and the Pacific, since August is approaching, traditionally known as the month dedicated to holidays".
The person in charge "received assurances from the head of this Diplomatic Mission that in the coming days, the desired contact will be established with the Angolan Ministry of Tourism, for the requested interaction", the statement also states.
It should be noted that Venubooka is a "platform specialized in promoting events, held anywhere in the world", and that "this Australian company has a fully functional team, which provides support to event organizers, with the aim of identifying and exploring desirable locations for the activities they intend to carry out, before proceeding with the reservation of specific locations".
