Bilateral relations "are very good" and there is "openness on the part of both governments to strengthen these relations" between "two friendly peoples", said José Maria Neves, who was received by the President of the Republic at the Palácio da Cidade Alta, in Luanda.
"It was a meeting of friends, to assess the excellence of relations" and to envisage "a better future for both countries", he said, detailing that "there are good prospects in the area of transport, in the area of tourism, in addition to of the investments that are already in Cape Verde, in the areas of banking, fuel and telecommunications".
The Cape Verdean and Angolan heads of state met on the sidelines of the 3rd Luanda Biennial, which began on Wednesday and ends this Friday, under the motto "Education, Culture of Peace and African Citizenship as Tools for the Sustainable Development of the Continent".
In addition to bilateral relations, the conversation between them focused on the theme of "peace in Africa" and "areas of conflict, particularly in the Central African region", said the Cape Verdean statesman.
"We hope that in the near future we can actually have good relations between the different countries so that we can accelerate the pace of socio-economic transformation on the continent", said José Maria Neves at the end of the meeting with João Lourenço.
In particular, the President of Cape Verde hoped that the elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo "will go well" and serve "to strengthen democracy, institutions and guarantee peace, stability and development", he concluded.
