Luanda government suspends pilgrimages to cemeteries on the Day of the Dead

The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) suspended pilgrimages to cemeteries and other religious activities of masses allusive to the Day of the Dead, which is celebrated this Tuesday, due to the covid-19 pandemic, advising families to stay at home.

"On the eve of the anniversary, and given the current situation, there is a huge concern about the need to retain and control the transmission of covid-19, as well as the preservation of the lives of people who usually travel to cemeteries to carry out different activities, in honor of their deceased loved ones”, justifies the GPL in a press release.

Given the large movement and movement of people in these places on this date, the GPL "determines that any and all activities around the ephemeris, such as pilgrimages to cemeteries, religious activities or similar, are suspended", to minimize the risk of spreading the disease.

The GPL advises families to stay at home and comply with biosafety standards, considering that "in this way they will be honoring the memory of those who have departed", preserving "the supreme good that is life".
