Covid-19: Angola reports another 98 cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours

Angola has registered another 98 infections by the new coronavirus, four deaths and 252 patients recovered, announced this Sunday the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

Of the new cases, 50 were notified in Luanda, 32 in Malanje, 12 in Kwanza Norte and 4 in Cunene, aged between one and 83 years.

The disease was diagnosed in 47 males and 51 females.

Four people died due to covid-19, two men and two women, of Angolan nationality with 44, 64 and 66 years old.

Another 252, aged between 1 and 76, recovered in the last 24 hours.

In total, 12,433 cases of covid-19 have been reported in the country, of which 307 have died, 5899 have recovered, and 6227 are active, including 9 critical and 25 severe cases.

A total of 174,837 samples have been processed to date, 1736 of which in the last 24 hours.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 1,251,980 deaths in more than 50 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
