Country notifies 349 new infections and two deaths by covid-19 in the last 24 hours

The country registered, in the last 24 hours, 349 positive cases of covid-19, two deaths and 58 recovered patients, informed the Ministry of Health.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, the cases are divided by Luanda (229), Namibe (36), Benguela (34), Cabinda (27), Huíla (12), Uíge (08), Cunene (02) and Zaire (01), being 238 male and 111 female, aged between 1 and 81 years.

The deaths were registered in the provinces of Luanda and Cabinda, one male and one female, aged 76 and 78, respectively.

Statistics also point to the recovery, in the last 24 hours, of 58 patients, all in Luanda, aged between 2 and 61 years.

With data from Tuesday, Angola has 11,577 infections, 291 deaths, 5230 patients considered recovered and 6,056 active, of which 16 are in critical condition, 31 severe, 156 moderate, 363 mild and 5230 asymptomatic.

In the treatment centers 566 patients are being followed.

Regarding the tests, the laboratories have processed in the last 24 hours 2397 samples, said the head of Health, pointing to a cumulative of 164,326 samples processed to date.

Franco Mufinda updated the data on the distribution of cases, deaths, recovered and assets at national level, with Luanda province continuing to account for the highest number of cases (9441), deaths (250), recovered (4715) and assets (4476), while the provinces of Bié, Cunene, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Moxico, Zaire have not yet recorded deaths due to the new coronavirus.

The governor stressed that the epidemiological state varies from province to province, highlighting that the only region of the country that continues with community contamination is Luanda.

The provinces of Cabinda and Zaire have clusters, which places both at level three, while Luanda is at level four and the remaining provinces at level two, with local transmission or sporadic cases.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused more than 1.2 million deaths and more than 46.9 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

In Africa, there are 43,421 confirmed deaths in more than 1.8 million people infected in 55 countries, according to the most recent pandemic statistics on the continent.
