According to Joaquim Agostinho, health professional, in declarations issued by the Angolan public radio, the population makes use of still water from a lagoon, which has caused the disease.
"We are seeing that the water is cloudy, we have visited many times the lagoon of the Calonga river and other areas where there is also still water," said Joaquim Agostinho, pointing out that children are the most affected by the disease.
The same source said that some medicines have already been made available to treat the water, to drink and to bathe.
