Angola on the list of priority countries to make known to Chinese investors

This week, the international exchange promotion agency 'Lookwe' launched a magazine that highlights the business environment and economic potential of Angola. The agency's general manager, Xu Yun Zu, said that Angola could always count on the support of Chinese institutions in the search for investors.

"Angola is a friendly country and a good partner that has always been on China's side in difficult times and can always count on the support of Chinese institutions in divulging the new business environment and existing opportunities for Chinese business," said the official who was speaking this Wednesday in Beijing at the ceremony to present the agency's special edition of the magazine.

The official also said, cited by Jornal de Angola, that the exchange promotion agency had placed Angola on the list of priority countries to make known to Chinese investors.

At the ceremony, Wang Yan, chief editor of the magazine, took the opportunity to say that Angola is a "country with many tourist potential and open to private investment".

"This month marks the 45th anniversary of the National Independence of the Republic of Angola, a country that, since 2017, has entered a new era characterized by changes and readjustment of some of its legal instruments, in order to improve the business environment and encourage private investment," she added.

The agency's magazine highlights the business environment and investment opportunities in Angola and stresses that the country "has taken significant steps in terms of infrastructure construction and tourist attraction".

The publication also includes the participation of the Angolan Ambassador to China, João dos Santos Neto, who stresses the link between the two countries and recalls that Angola has made some changes to facilitate direct investment.

Bank of China in Angola grants credit to specific areas of the economy sector

By the end of October, the Bank of China (BOC) subsidiary in Angola provided 440 million kwanzas in the form of credit to boost the national economy.

"On 31 October 2020, the total approved value of credit to specific areas of the real sector of the economy is 440 million kwanzas, the total amount granted is 270 million kwanzas and 170 million have been settled," the bank explained in a statement published on its website.

The note also states that "170 million were approved and disbursed with a term of six months, the same has already been liquidated and the existing balance is zero. The subsidiary also states that so far, under Notice No. 10/2020, 270 million kwanzas have also been approved and disbursed 100 million with a term of six months and the existing balance is 100 million.

The Bank of China in Angola is located in Talatona and was the first bank in Asia and abroad to set up a subsidiary in Angola.
