TAAG orders four new Boeing aircraft to renew long-haul fleet

The information was provided by TAAG this Tuesday, referring to an "exhaustive" negotiation process between the Board of Directors and the manufacturer, which made it possible to ensure the best conditions for the company, and incorporate the aircraft into the "sale-and-leaseback". This regime concerns a form of leasing, that is, the company sells an asset but remains its lessee. This way, the asset is not idle and can provide liquidity to the company, without it getting rid of it.

The airline states that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner stands out for its high level of comfort, technology and appealing interior design. From an operational point of view, it is said to be an efficient aircraft in terms of fuel economy and environmental sustainability, with a 25 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the previous generation.

TAAG introduces this model into its fleet for the first time, with the delivery of the first aircraft scheduled for August 2024.

"Our objective is to work with the best manufacturers in the world to create a versatile fleet for TAAG and ensure that we have the appropriate aircraft for each type of flight, particularly on intercontinental connections. The option for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner meets our intention in renewing the fleet with efficient, modern aircraft, sized according to the routes we operate on. We are on the right path to progressively replace current aircraft that denote some age and provide a better flight experience for our passengers", says Eduardo Fairen, PCE of TAAG, in a statement sent to VerAngola.

"The evaluation and negotiation process with manufacturers was conducted with great rigor and professionalism and the terms and conditions achieved attest to the international credibility achieved by our Board of Directors, as well as the confidence that sector agents have in the Company's Business Plan TAAG", says Ana Major, PCA at TAAG.

The PCA also thanked João Lourenço for the support given by the Presidency, as well as for the engagement of the Ministry of Transport to facilitate the process that allowed the conclusion of the agreement signed with the
Boeing "a historic partner for TAAG, and for Angola".

The company also added that the incorporation of these aircraft is in line with the 'Customer Journey' project underway at TAAG, which has as its main objective the "improvement of the product, comfort and service, providing a unique experience for the passenger".
