The concession for the management, maintenance and operation of the multipurpose container and general cargo terminal at the Port of Lobito was awarded through a simplified contracting procedure (direct award) with the proposal from Africa Global Logistics SAS (AGL) being ranked first.
Africa Global Logistics is part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC Group), a global leader in maritime transport, which operates in more than 155 countries, employing more than 100,000 workers.
The company has 23,000 employees and focuses its activity on port management and maintenance, railway concessions, logistics operations and maritime agency, with a presence in 49 countries.
It is responsible for the operation of 21 port concessions (including 17 container terminals, seven Ro-Ro terminals and two forest products terminals) and two railway concessions, one in Cameroon (Comrail) and the other on the connection between Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso (Sitorail).
