According to Braúlio Rodrigues, agronomist at the farm in Cacuso (Malanje), although at the moment the farm sells corn and soybeans in bulk, after the recovery of the manufacturing units it will only sell cornmeal and feed.
Regarding the capacity of the aforementioned factories, according to Angop, the cornmeal unit will be capable of producing two tons/hour, while the feed factory will have the capacity to produce four tons per hour. However, the transformation process will only begin in the first three months of next year.
As for plans for the next agricultural period, the agronomist said that they also plan to start producing beans on a large scale.
Regarding the current agricultural harvest (2024/2025), Braúlio Rodrigues reported that, for the first harvest, 600 hectares of corn and 200 soybeans were planted, with another 200 hectares of each expected to be planted for the second harvest, writes Angop.
According to the technician, with this cultivation, it is expected that around 3000 tons of corn and 1800 tons of soybeans will be harvested.
It is worth remembering that, within the scope of the State Assets Privatization Program (Propriv), in 2021, the aforementioned farm was subject to privatization, having passed into the 'hands' of the company Prumo.
Employing 98 employees, including nationals and expatriates, the agricultural enterprise currently has eight silos in operation, with the two manufacturing units in the recovery process, so that in 2025 the project that aims to produce cornmeal and feed for sale will be carried out.
