Tchizé dos Santos says he has "irrefutable" evidence against JLO's candidacy that "must give way to others"

Tchizé dos Santos challenged João Lourenço's candidacy for MPLA leadership, asking for his challenge. The former deputy and daughter of former President José Eduardo dos Santos, pointed the finger at João Lourenço stating that he was unable to prevent “countless violations of the MPLA statutes and the Constitution of the Republic”.

Through a post on his Instagram, Tchizé dos Santos says that the President "did his best, but his best was not enough to maintain the cohesion of the MPLA nor to solve basic problems such as generating the jobs he promised and not keep the prices of the basic food basket acceptable".

In addition, she adds, that the head of state has not been able to prevent "countless violations of the MPLA statutes and the Constitution of the Republic whose evidence is public and indisputable."

For these reasons, "JLo must give way to others who are better able to compete for the good of the MPLA and Angola," she argues.

In her publication, the former deputy underlines that João Lourenço "is not the only one who can run to represent the MPLA, much less the only one who has to be elected for president of Angola in 2022".

Tchizé dos Santos ends by indicating that he hopes that his request to challenge João Lourenço's candidacy will receive the same treatment as the request to challenge the congress that elected Adalberto da Costa Júnior as UNITA leader received: "Let's see if they will give the same treatment to my request to contest the candidacy of citizen João Lourenço for the presidency of the MPLA, based on irrefutable evidence, the same treatment they gave to the request to contest the congress that elected UNITA president Adalberto da Costa Júnior."
