The start of this route was created by the 'Semba in the world' project and took place in Luanda. According to Angop, the action was symbolised by the lighting of the semba sign, which is displayed at the Ex-Clube dos Caçadores, in front of the port of Luanda, and the place is being named 'Miradouro do Semba'.
According to Hélio Aragão, coordinator of the project, the sign is a "new symbol" of the country's culture and memory.
"The sign, installed at the Semba Viewpoint, is a new symbol of our culture, our memory and our projection in the world.
The official also informed that the Semba Tourist Route covers the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Namibe, Huíla and Cuanzas Norte and Sul, adding that the provincial governments of these provinces are currently developing tourist routes to guide those who visit the country and wish to learn more about the national culture.
Although he did not give dates, the coordinator pointed out that in the near future the project will publicize the provincial locations that will be part of the Semba Tourist Route.
Quoted by Angop, Hélio Aragão also highlighted that this route aims to recover the memory of previous years and, mainly, to give value to the regions where semba has deep roots.
