Covid-19: country registered 103 new infections and one death in the last 24 hours

The country registered 103 new cases of covid-19, one death and 83 recovered from the disease, in the last 24 hours, informed this Tuesday the health authorities.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, cases were registered in Luanda (45), Cabinda (23), Huambo (20), Cuando Cubango (nine), Huila (two), Benguela, Cuanza Norte, Malanje and Uíge (one each), aged between 3 and 97 years, 78 males and 25 females.

Death was reported in Huíla province, while recovered patients, aged between 6 months and 81 years, were reported in Luanda (42), Huambo (32) and Cuando Cubango (nine) provinces.

The country has a cumulative 64,033 cases, 1702 dead, 52,833 recovered from the disease and 9498 active, of which six in critical condition, 15 severe, 64 moderate, 32 mild and 9381 asymptomatic.

There are 117 hospitalized patients, 98 people in institutional quarantine and 4194 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.

In the same period, the laboratories processed 4025 samples by RT-PCR, with a daily positivity rate of 2.6 percent, with a cumulative rate of 1,101,534 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.8 Percent.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,952,390 deaths worldwide, among more than 243.97 million infections by the new coronavirus registered since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
