Ngola Kiluanje Primary School ready to accommodate over 900 students per year

The National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), Azule Energy and the partners of Block 28 (Sonangol E&P, and Sinopec) handed over this Thursday to the Municipal Administration of Hoji-Ya-Henda the Primary School No. 1407 'Ngola Kiluanje'.

Shut down in May due to concerns about the building's structural safety, which was at risk of collapse, the students were temporarily transferred to a hospital complex in the municipality so they could continue
the school year.

With the completion of the rehabilitation and equipment work, the school now has nine classrooms, with a capacity for 45 students, divided into two periods (morning and afternoon), totaling over 900 students per school year.

During the event, Azule Energy's Director of External and Government Relations, Hélder Silva, called on students, teachers, and the community to support the preservation of the facility. "The hardest part is to build because the easiest is to destroy," he said in a statement sent to VerAngola.

The Municipal Administrator of Hoji-Ya-Henda, José Oliveira dos Santos Bastos, in a very moving address, conveyed to the group of companies in the sector that, in the record time of three months, they had managed to help minimize the
education problem in their municipality. "We were asked, and we accepted. We will care for this school as we care for our own home. The Hoji-Ya-Henda community is very grateful for the gesture and for having responded to our request in record time," he said.

This investment represents a significant step in improving basic education in the Hoji-Ya-Henda municipality, reaffirming the solid partnership between ANPG, Azule Energy, Sonangol, and Sinopec, within the scope of the social responsibilities of Block 28, the statement further states.

"We firmly believe that the oil sector should not only create economic value, but also generate a positive and sustainable impact on Angolan communities," said Domingas Pacavira, ANPG representative and manager of Block 28.

The project lasted approximately three months and was implemented by the NGO Ajuda de Desenvolvimento de Povo para Povo (ADPP), recognized for its work promoting community development in the country.
