Ministry wants to install eight civil identification posts in four African countries

The national director of the civil and criminal identification archive, Carlos Cavuquila, made it known that the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights wants, by the end of the year, to install eight civil and criminal identification posts in the consulates general of Angola in South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to the person in charge, who was talking about the inauguration, on Friday, of the data collection post for issuing the Identity Card and the Civil Registry Center in Paris, each country will have two posts. The cities chosen are Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa), Oshakati and Windhoek (Namibia), Lusaka and Mongo (Zambia) and Lumbubasi and Kinshasa (DRC).

These new posts, according to the director, will help angolans who are outside the country to renew or apply for their identification document. This service will be a "great relief for angolans," he said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

The posts will be installed as part of the Program for the Massification of Birth Registration and Attribution of Identity Card.

According to the official, the project is being carried out jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Institute of Angolan Communities Abroad.

Carlos Cavuquila also made it known that next Saturday a post will be inaugurated in the city of Porto, Portugal.

In Lisbon there is already a post of this kind: last month alone the post in the Portuguese capital allocated a total of 450 Identity Cards. A number, which for Carlos Cavuquila, indicates that there are many Angolans outside the country who need to renew or request this document.
