Covid-19: country with 160 more cases and six deaths

Health authorities announced this Sunday another 160 covid-19 infections in the country, bringing the total to 7622, and six deaths.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, in the last 24 hours 160 new cases were registered, of which 137 in Luanda, 19 in Namibe and four in Huila.

The ages vary between one month and 90 years, being 92 male and 68 female.

Another six patients, aged between 39 and 84, five Angolans and one Russian, died in the last 24 hours.

Angola has so far registered 7622 cases of new coronavirus infection and 247 deaths, 3030 recovered from the disease and 4345 active infections.

A total of 1616 samples have been analyzed, a total of 132,797 processed to date.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused over 1.1 million deaths worldwide since December last year, including 2181 in Portugal.

In Africa, there are 39,559 confirmed deaths in more than 1.6 million people infected in 55 countries, according to the most recent pandemic statistics on that continent.

Angola has 247 deaths and 7622 cases, followed by Equatorial Guinea (83 deaths and 5068 cases), Cape Verde (85 deaths and 7638 cases), Mozambique (73 deaths and 10,612 cases), Guinea-Bissau (41 deaths and 2389 cases) and São Tomé and Príncipe (15 deaths and 932 cases).
