The professionals arrived in Angola as part of the cooperation and solidarity that existed between the country and China. With vast specialties such as internal medicine, intensive care, otolaryngology, epidemiology, infectious diseases and traditional medicine, health professionals - doctors, laboratory technicians and hospital managers - will be in the country for 15 days.
During their stay, they will provide training on the clinical approach to patients with covid-19, aimed mainly at national professionals who are seconded in reference hospitals for the treatment of the disease.
“We have reached a stage of the disease curve. We have patients in more advanced stages. Therefore, nothing better than exchanging experience in laboratories and hospitals for a better approach to patients ”, said Franco Mufinda, quoted by Angop, at the reception to specialists at Aeroporto 4 de Fevereiro.
The Secretary of State for Public Health also highlighted "the vast experience" of Chinese professionals, reinforcing their benefits for the country.
The Chinese ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, highlighted the "good collaboration and solidarity" between the two countries, which aroused a feeling of mutual help among Chinese doctors, who agreed to share their experience in Angola.
It is recalled that Angola has 5863 confirmed cases of covid-19 this Thursday, having about 2000 health units in the country, almost all with areas reserved for the treatment of the virus.
