Regarding laboratory data, in the last 24 hours 2720 samples were processed by RT-PCR, of which 138 were positive, totaling 106,571 samples, with 5863 positive and the remaining negative.

Silvia Lutucuta said that sentinel schools were defined, in which this Wednesday started the testing to students, of which some presented reactive results, which will be confirmed by RT-PCR tests.

The minister called attention to the whole Angolan population that covid-19 is highly contagious and with clinical manifestations many of them typical and other atypical, exhorting that they should not be "devalued in any way any picture of fever, cough, breathing difficulties, diarrhea, easy fatigue and joint pain".

"Clinical manifestations that are often confused with other diseases very common in the country such as malaria, dengue fever, chicungunha, but we have covid and we should not devalue these manifestations in any way," she said.

The minister added that the same reaction has been "noticed in health professionals, who despite having knowledge of these clinical manifestations have not been valuing the symptoms many times.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused more than one million fifty-one thousand deaths and more than 35.8 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December in Wuhan, a city in central China.
