The document validating the cooperation was signed this Monday in Lisbon and marks the beginning of the provision of scientific support and training for judges and other staff members of the national Supreme Court.
The protocol was signed, by delegation of powers, by the Angolan Judge Counsellor Raúl Rodrigues and by the President of the Institute for Legal Cooperation of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, Fernando Loureiro Bastos. It includes the carrying out of scientific research by judges and staff members of the Supreme Court, the joint holding of courses, colloquia, seminars and similar initiatives, with a view to the specialized training of judges and staff members of the Supreme Court, the carrying out of internships at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon by staff members of the Library, Archive, Documentation, Registry and other services of the Supreme Court, the strengthening of the Supreme Court library and also the exchange of publications and support for the publication of new releases produced by the Supreme Court or its judges.
The cooperation protocol will last for five years from the date of its conclusion, and will be automatically renewable for equal or successive periods, according to the Supreme Court, in a document to which VerAngola had access.
The Supreme Court delegation assigned to the mission in Lisbon also includes Judge Carlos Alberto Cavuquila, who participated in the Opening Session of the Auditors Course of the Center for Judicial Studies (CEJ).
