The extraordinary conferences in the provinces of Luanda, Moxico, Bengo, Malanje, Zaire, Cabinda, Lunda Norte and Cuanza Norte were approved this Tuesday at an extraordinary meeting of the MPLA Political Bureau, chaired by João Lourenço, who took office for the second time, as President of the Republic on Thursday.

The members of the Political Bureau of the MPLA Central Committee welcomed the inauguration of João Lourenço and the executive appointed for the five-year period 2022-2027, reaffirming "full and unconditional support" for the implementation of the government program adopted in the elections of 24 de Agosto, "in which the Angolan people participated with a high civic and patriotic sense".

They also expressed "full support for the President of the Republic in the implementation of policy measures that result in governance based on working more and communicating better".

The Political Bureau also welcomed the celebration of the "birthday centenary of the nation's founder and national hero, Doctor António Agostinho Neto, having reiterated its commitment to unconditionally preserve the political-ideological thinking that guided its action and selflessly commitment to the National Liberation Struggle, which culminated in the proclamation of Angola's Independence, on November 11, 1975".

Adjustments to the structure of the MPLA Political Bureau's secretariat were also approved.
