Marginal da Praia Morena has a new 'face' and has already reopened to the public

The Marginal da Praia Morena, in Benguela, reopened to the public last Saturday. The opening of the waterfront, which has a 'new look', took place after a period of requalification under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

According to a note from the Provincial Government of Benguela, to which VerAngola had access, the area was "completely requalified", having benefited from "structuring works such as asphalting, sidewalks, public lighting, paintings, six kiosks for selling handicrafts, 13 kiosks for the restaurant service and an ice cream parlor, which will give greater dignity to the users who provided services in this place".

In addition, the project also covered the "requalification of differentiated recreational and leisure areas, spaces capable of receiving various cultural, sporting and economic and tourist promotion activities".

On the occasion, according to a statement from the provincial government, the governor of Benguela, Luís Nunes, "toured the place" and interacted with "beneficiaries who positively expressed their satisfaction with the infrastructures where services of social relevance will be provided. to the community".

This was the case of master Maquis Feliz, a producer of handicraft articles, who, according to Angop, was happy to be able to work in more dignified conditions, having also left a promise that he would preserve the area.

The same vision was shared by the 'rasta' Salatiel João, producer of leather bracelets and sandals. Cited by Angop, he said he was happy that the days of working in precarious conditions were over.

Also quoted by Angop, Adilson Gonçalves, deputy governor for the technical and infrastructure area, informed that the project was budgeted at 700 million kwanzas, having been completed in about a year with some stops.

He also mentioned that the government's intentions include the implementation of a police station in the area, taking into account the number of people who will visit the area, as it now has a more attractive 'air'.
