Social Entrepreneurship for Young People was the central theme of the 3rd edition of the event, which brought together more than 150 young volunteers and organizations dedicated to social work, to exchange experiences and outline strategies for a better performance of the different stakeholders in project management social, promoting good practices.
The event, among other objectives, aims to give voice to the opinions of young people and Angolan associations on active participation, citizenship and the concerns that affect this social nucleus.
Jelson Gaieta, head of the Heróis de Azul project, explains that it is important to encourage social entrepreneurship to respond to the most varied social concerns. The responsible also emphasizes that the social enterprise allows the insertion of low-income groups in the production chain, based on opportunities, tools and monitoring.
Jelson Gaieta makes a positive assessment of the event, taking into account the participation and very active participation, which exceeded the organization's expectations. "The objective is being fulfilled, which is to carry the message to our target audience, fundamentally young people and institutions dedicated to volunteering and citizenship issues".
The NGO VIS - International Volunteering for Development and the Salesians of Don Bosco, joined the Portal do Voluntário and the Heroes of Azul, in the scope of the Project "The Future in our Hands-We young protagonists of the development of Angola" (project developed with the Salesians of Don Bosco and with the ICRA-Institute of Religious Sciences of Angola supported by the European Union) intend to dynamize Youth Volunteering as a tool to promote youth participation, citizenship and add the influence and progress of current youth policies.
The Youth Volunteer Forum is held monthly as part of the "O Futuro nas Nossas Mãos" project, funded by the European Union.
