With the promotion of tourism, Angola aspires to join the list of the main tourist destinations in Africa by 2025, according to a diplomatic source.
João Lourenço, accompanied by several cabinet ministers, also visited the public company Canal de Isabel II, responsible for managing all the processes that allow the collection, treatment, distribution, disposal, treatment, purification and reuse of water in almost the entirety of the city. territory of the Community (region) of Madrid.
Among other aspects, the Angolan delegation was in contact with the general scheme of the distribution, sanitation and treatment systems of the company, which ensures the supply of water to almost seven million inhabitants.
On Monday, the first day of the state visit, João Lourenço and Pedro Sánchez reached an agreement on a joint declaration in which they defended that sectors of economic interest for Spanish companies and investors in that African country should be strengthened.
During the meeting, Pedro Sánchez highlighted the interest that Spanish companies have in the Angolan market, "where they can contribute with their experience, quality and technology to the country's economic and social development."
Many Spanish companies are currently developing projects in sectors such as water treatment, industrial refrigeration, health, education, training and geology, explains Madrid.
"Spain wants to contribute to the design of the European Union's policy towards Africa, so that it is oriented towards the progress and industrialization of the continent, towards the creation of employment, especially for young people, and towards the effective implementation" of a Free Trade Zone, said Pedro Sánchez at the time.
Also on the first day of the visit, King Felipe VI accepted the invitation made by João Lourenço to carry out a state visit to Angola.
The President now returns to Luanda after a tour that took him to Washington and New York, in the United States of America, and finally to Madrid.
