Covid-19: Angola with 457 new infections and 13 deaths in the last 24 hours

Angola registered 457 new cases, 13 deaths and 93 recovered, in the last 24 hours, informed this Tuesday the health authorities.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, new infections were reported in 12 of the country's 18 provinces, with Luanda registering 320 of the total cases.

As for deaths, ten males and three females, aged between 39 and 86 years, five were reported in Luanda, the same number in Benguela, one in Bié and the same number in Cuanza Sul and Huíla.

With regard to recoveries, in people aged between nine months and 80 years, 30 were reported in Huambo, 20 in Namibe, 15 in Benguela, 11 in Huíla, five in Luanda, four in Malanje, three in Bié, three in Cuando Cubango and two in Moxico.

With the numbers of the last 24 hours, the country reached a cumulative of 56,040 confirmed cases, 1526 deaths, 47,421 recovered and 7093 active, of which 36 critical, 37 severe, 185 moderate, 83 mild and 6752 asymptomatic, with 341 patients being hospitalized, in institutional quarantine 116 people and under epidemiological surveillance 3778 contacts.

The laboratories processed, in the same period, 5248 samples by RT-PCR, making the cumulative of 994,395 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.6 percent.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,752,875 deaths worldwide, out of 232.27 million infections by the new coronavirus recorded since the start of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
