Edeltrudes Costa will have been enriched through public contracts

Edeltrudes Costa, the current chief of staff and considered to be the President's right-hand man, will have been enriched by the signing of public contracts. According to a report by the Portuguese TVI, the Government will have favored Edeltrudes Costa's company for the provision of various services.

:

The contracts, according to the report, will have been worth millions of euros to the company EMFC - Consulting, S.A, owned by the current head of João Lourenço's office. TVI also states that the public contracts will have been approved by the President himself.

The millions raised with the services will have been used to buy luxury homes in Portugal. In addition, the report, broadcast this Monday, September 21, also reveals that Edeltrudes Costa will have sent money to Panama, using a branch of the then Banco Espírito Santo (BES), in the Madeira area.

Among the various services awarded to EMFC is a contract that provided for the modernization of one of the country's airports. According to TVI, the contract refers to February of last year and the President of the Republic will have approved, in a dispatch, the contracting of the company Roland Berger, which provided for the subcontracting of EMFC.

Part of the money raised from the deal will have been transferred to Portugal, which raised suspicions and led the central bank to investigate Edeltrudes Costa's banking operations.

According to a bank statement, to which TVI had access, João Lourenço's current chief of staff, although he had never held any large salary positions, had the equivalent of 20 million euros in his account.

The money was allegedly used to buy a house in Cascais, which cost over 2.5 million euros. The house is in the name of his ex-wife, Ariete Faria, who also belongs to the EMFC board of directors.

With the money transferred from Madeira, Edeltrudes will have bought a luxurious apartment in Panama, in one of the properties of Donald Trump, the current president of the United States of America.

Another deal revealed by TVI is linked to the Angolan National Electoral Commission, in a service that EMFC carried out for the elections that João Lourenço won. This service will have yielded the company around one million euros.

TVI contacted João Lourenço and Eldetrudes Costa, but they did not provide any clarification.
