The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 am and will be attended by the auxiliary bodies of the President of the Republic, ministerial departments, provincial governors and municipal administrators, according to a statement from the Ministry of Territorial Administration, to which VerAngola had access.
According to the ministry, the FMCA is "a body for consultation and consultation of the President of the Republic, as the Holder of Executive Power, which aims to promote and boost the country's community development".
Among other objectives, the forum will commemorate 10 August, the day on which the 'African Day of Decentralisation and Local Development' is celebrated, which resulted from "a decision of the 2nd Ordinary Conference of Ministers responsible for Decentralisation and Local Development, held in Maputo City, Mozambique, in 2011 and hosted by the African Union in 2012".
Furthermore, as part of the 10th edition of the FMCA, the awards ceremony for the first edition of the 'Best Municipality of Angola' Award is scheduled to take place next Saturday.
"As part of the 10th Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola, the Gala for the first edition of the 'Best Municipality of Angola' Award will be held on 10 August, at which the municipalities that stood out in the 12 categories will be awarded prizes", the ministry said in a statement.
The competitors, the ministry said, are being evaluated by an independent jury, made up of seven individuals, in the 12 categories, which include, for example, urban planning, infrastructure and land use planning; transport, mobility and accessibility; health and well-being, among many others.
It should be noted that the government recently announced the monetary values to be awarded to the winners of this award. The prize varies according to the category and organic structure of the winner, with the maximum value set at 100 million kwanzas.
