The Government, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, explains that, according to the joint executive decree of the Ministries of Finance and Territorial Administration No. 9/24, of June 29, "the classifications are divided into categories by organic structure, ranging from type A to D".
Thus, the first-place winner in category A of the 'Best Municipality of Angola Award' will receive 100 million kwanzas, while the second and third-place winners in this category will receive 80 million kwanzas and 60 million kwanzas, respectively.
In category B, the first-place winner will receive 90 million kwanzas, while the second-place winner will receive 70 million kwanzas and the third-place winner will receive 50 million kwanzas.
"The winner of category C will receive 80 million kwanzas, the second-place winner will receive 60 million kwanzas and the third-place winner will receive 40 million kwanzas", the statement states.
Finally, the winner of category D will receive 70 million kwanzas, while the second and third places will receive 50 million and 30 million kwanzas, respectively.
"The monetary values awarded to the municipalities that win the 'Best Municipality of Angola Award', an initiative of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, are essentially intended to strengthen the programs, projects and actions underway in the municipality and to meet urgent demands presented by the citizens within the framework of the participatory budget", the statement states.
For this award, "all candidates compete against each other" in categories such as urban planning, infrastructure and land use planning, transport, mobility and accessibility, connectivity, among many others.
"The awards will be awarded by the last day of the month, immediately following the day the results are announced", the Government also informs.
