With a contract signed until the end of next year, the Angolan player is already on Brazilian soil. At the time of landing, in Rio de Janeiro, Bastos Quissanga, who was accompanied by his family, said they were "happy" and spoke of "some bureaucratic situations" that delayed the trip.
"We are happy, we had a long journey and through some bureaucratic situations it took us time to be here, but thank God we managed to arrive", he said, in statements to BTB Sports.
"We are all happy and we can't wait to start this new adventure with Botafogo," he added.
The 32-year-old Angolan also said he will do his best: "I will try to do my best and help the club to achieve its goals (...)", he said, quoted by BTB Sports.
Born in Luanda, Quissanga's curriculum includes passages at Petro de Luanda, as well as at the Italian club Lazio, the Russian club Rostov, Al-Ain and Al-Ahli, the latter two from Saudi Arabia.
He is now heading to Brazil to wear the Botafogo jersey, which is coached by the Portuguese Bruno Lage.
