On the occasion, the holder of the Environment portfolio considered that the Cameia Park "has a biological biodiversity with high value for conservation, however the weak inspection capacity that the park has, made it possible that, in recent years, crimes against life wildlife, with emphasis on poaching, had a significant increase".

In view of these facts, she added, it is considered "pertinent to reinforce environmental inspection and education actions in the Cameia National Park to reduce anthropogenic pressure on wildlife, thus guaranteeing the sustainable management of biodiversity and natural resources for the benefit of generations present and future, generating jobs and wealth".

The Minister of the Environment also said, during her speech, that they are convinced that "these actions will improve the promotion of public or private partnerships in management, development and ecotourism activities".

According to a statement from the Provincial Government of Moxico, the workshop was also attended by, among other figures, the provincial governor, Ernesto Muangala. On the occasion, the governor highlighted the "importance of environmental management for the development of the province", recalling the challenges that the province faces regarding "the preservation of natural resources, the mitigation of the effects of climate change and the promotion of citizen participation in the preservation of the environment between the communities", the statement reads.

At the event, the director of the Provincial Office for the Environment and Community Services, Paulo Lumai, presented "the main environmental issues that affect the province, such as water and soil pollution, loss of biodiversity, desertification and erosion".

"Among the various topics presented by technicians from the ministry, they were related to the National Program for Environmental Standardization, the National Strategy for Environmental Education, which aims to integrate environmental education into different levels and teaching modalities, as well as public policies and social programs ", reads the note.

The sustainable management of fires was also discussed, within the scope of the National Strategy for Climate Change, as well as Environmental Licensing and Inspection, which aims to ensure "compliance with established environmental norms and standards, in addition to making revenue collection sustainable by municipal administrations".
