Thirty national companies are present at the 1st Economic Forum between Angola and the DRC

Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) opened, in Kinshasa (in the DRC), the first Economic Forum between both countries, where 30 national companies were present, with a focus on bringing products with the 'Made in Angola' seal to the DRC market”.

Among the participants is the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda-Bengo, which marks its presence at the event with companies and products installed and produced in this space.

Cited in a communiqué from the ZEE Luanda-Bengo, to which VerAngola had access, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the ZEE, Manuel Pedro, said that the ZEE "comes with the perspective of carrying out a market study, presenting the potential of the ZEE and opening doors to the national business community, and perspective that the ZEE will be a logistics platform in the future, capable of absorbing national products from the countryside, being the main vehicle for exporting agricultural products in the DRC".

The event's motto is "Economic Partnerships Towards Mutual Growth", having been promoted "by the presidents of both countries, namely João Lourenço and Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo", according to the statement, which adds that "the main objective of the forum is to stimulate commercial exchanges between countries, with greater emphasis on the mobilization of companies that bet on national production".

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of the DRC, Vital Kamerche Lwa Kanyiginyi Nkingi, and the Angolan Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, were responsible for opening the event, according to the note.

On the occasion, Mário Caetano João – in an interview with the Public Television of Angola (TPA), quoted by the ZEE communiqué – highlighted the "intention of facilitating processes whose objective is for the two countries to enter a bilateral trade zone, where gains are reciprocal for the two markets".

In addition, the holder of the Economy and Planning portfolio also underlined that the event is only being possible "due to the openness, approximation and great interest" of the presidents of both countries.

The Minister of Economy and Planning, "also head of the mission, was accompanied on this visit to the exhibition site of the managers of the National Institute for Support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), Angolan Development Bank (BDA), Port of Luanda and Special Economic Zone (ZEE), which had the representation of some Angolan companies, installed in its space, namely Probeauty; Gulkis; Palmentar and Candy Factory; Yoni Bem and Hengye Electronics", reads the statement.
