CFB's qualities in promoting tourism highlighted by a South African businessman

The qualities of the Benguela Railway (CFB) in promoting tourism were highlighted this Tuesday by Roven Force, owner of the Rovos Rail luxury train. According to the South African businessman, these conditions ensure a more stable circulation that is favorable to the promotion of tourism, admitting that the company will continue to make frequent trips to the country.

Roven Force considered that the country has the best quality railway track on the Central Southern Africa railway line – which includes Tanzania, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) – and added that these good conditions ensure more stable traffic, which favors the promotion of tourism, compared to other rail routes in the area.

Cited by Angop, the official compared the railways in the DRC, which he said have several weaknesses in terms of mobility: the presence of several trees on the route end up hindering circulation, as well as damaging the locomotives and also the presence of ferocious animals in the surroundings of the route that end up putting tourists at risk, were some of the examples mentioned.

Speaking this Tuesday at the end of a visit to Huambo by the third delegation of tourists, Roven Force admitted that these circumstances in the country will make the company maintain frequent trips.

He also took the opportunity to make an appeal: that there be more investment in hotel structures and road transport, with a view to contributing to the growth of the tourist sector.

Nicholas Schofield, coordinator of the tourist delegation, praised the CFB: "We were told that it was the Chinese who built this railway, despite being commonly known as individuals who are not good at works, but we can see a way of wonderful iron and we consider it to be the best in the corridor in which we are traveling", he said, quoted by Angop.

The country has better conditions to increase tourism, which is why members of the delegation committed to "sell" this image in their countries, with the aim of attracting more tourists and foreign investment, said the official, quoted by Angop.

It is recalled that this was the third time this year that Huambo received a delegation of tourists on the Rovos Rail train, with the first arriving in the province on 19 July and the second on 26 July. However, according to Angop, the visits do not stop there, the province will receive a fourth delegation on the 6th of August.
