CNE announces first results: MPLA ahead with 60.65 percent

The spokesman for the National Electoral Commission (CNE) released the first provisional results of Angola's general elections, which give the MPLA an advantage with 60.65 percent, followed by UNITA with 33.85 percent.

According to Lucas Quilundo, 33.16 percent of the total votes have already been scrutinized.

By candidacy, the results point to 60.65 percent for the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and 33.85 percent for the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA).

It is followed by the Social Renewal Party with 1.45 percent, the National Front for the Liberation of Angola with 1.28 percent, the Humanist Party of Angola with 1.05 percent, the Convergência Ampla de Salvação de Angola coalition. - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) with 0.70 percent, the National Patriotic Alliance (APN), with 0.51 percent and the Nationalist Justice Party (P-NJANGO) with 0.48 percent.
