More than a hundred buses will connect Luanda to Muxima during pilgrimage

An initiative of the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) will provide 109 buses for pilgrims to travel to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Muxima, whose celebrations take place between Thursday and Sunday.

According to a press release quoted by Angop, special bus stops have been created at various points in the capital city, and the connection fee to Muxima will cost 500 kwanzas per trip.

The operators TCUL, Strang, Angore AL, Macon, Ango Austral, Rosalina, Cidrália, Camcon and Impala will be at service on this route – between the 4th and 7th of August.

In order to guarantee safety and assistance to pilgrims, the National Civil Protection and Fire Service will have more than 300 personnel available, supported by 16 means, including fire-fighting vehicles, ambulances, rescue and rescue boats, etc.

The Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Muxima is located 130 kilometers from Luanda, and is under the jurisdiction of the diocese of Viana.

This year's pilgrimage will feature a solemn opening, scheduled for this Thursday, as well as the inauguration of the Casa do Santuário. A Eucharist will also be celebrated, presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Luanda, Dom Fernando Francisco.
