Luanda Port Company puts management of maritime passenger terminals up for tender

The Maritime Passenger Terminals of Kapossoka, Mussulo, Museu da Escravatura and Macôco are going out for tender. According to a notice issued by Empresa Portuária de Luanda, the tender starts this Tuesday, and those interested in managing the terminals may submit their applications until September 22.

According to the company's public notice, published in Jornal de Angola, interested parties will have to pay a deposit of 250,000 kwanzas when presenting their application.

The management contract will have a term of ten years, the document said, adding that the equity of the candidates must not be less than about US$300,000 and the average turnover over the last three years must not be less than about US$500,000.

Other requirements include the obligation to show a statement of professional risk insurance and to prove that they have at least five years of experience in similar areas.

According to Jornal de Angola, there will be a rigorous evaluation to choose the winner. For the awarding of the management of the terminals, an analysis will be made of the technical capacities of the company, and the standard of the most economically advantageous proposal will be met.

The tender is part of the strategy to revitalize maritime transport and is available to both domestic and foreign companies.
