Eugénio Laborinho was speaking at the opening of the first Methodological Council of the Administration and Services Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.

The Interior Minister said that this crime has been gaining alarming contours, if we look at the losses it has caused to the State.

The governor asked for the support of the media to sensitize the society that the destruction of power transformation poles, the theft of 400 screws from the railway line of the Luanda Railway, as occurred last week, are "at all levels unacceptable, because the train is a public good, whose access to it is not differentiated by social status".

"We must all be inspectors of the public thing, because it benefits everyone," the minister said.

The police announced Monday that five suspects have already been arrested for the theft of 400 bolts from the railway line of the Luanda Railroad, which destroyed 150 meters of the line in the Zenza-do-Itombe railway branch, in Dondo, Cambambe municipality, in Kwanza Norte province.

Regarding the functioning of the Directorate of Administration and Services of the Ministry of Interior (Minint), Eugénio Laborinho said there is awareness that despite the efforts undertaken by the staff, there are still many constraints arising from the functionality of this body, due to the lack of complementarity of the structures that intervene directly or indirectly in its action.

"With this council, we hope to obtain improvements in the dynamics of the administrative and bureaucratic procedure, in the treatment of all the issues inherent to the body, with a view to providing support to higher decisions," he said.

For his part, the director of the Directorate of Administration and Services (DAS), deputy commissioner for Migration Jacinto Mendes, said that several difficulties, essentially financial, have hindered the work of that ministerial department.

"When we arrived at DAS, we found the structures of the headquarters building of Minint in need of intervention, due to the state of wear and tear that has been demonstrating in some areas. Measures to reverse this situation have been taken, which has been restoring its good image, although we recognize that much still needs to be done to achieve the image that is intended to be given to the headquarters building," he stressed.
