Chinese Embassy no longer accepts Covid-19 tests by Clínica Girassol and Luanda Medical Center

In a statement, the diplomatic mission clarifies that it will only accept serological tests carried out at the Viana Diagnostic Laboratory, in Luanda. The same source did not clarify the reasons for that decision.

The health code is required to board flights to China.

However, the embassy will continue to accept nucleic acid testing tests carried out by the other two clinics.

Chinese authorities cut overseas air links in late March last year as the new coronavirus, which causes the covid-19 disease, spread across the world.
China requires the presentation of negative certificate of IgG and IgM serological tests and the PCR nucleic acid test to allow Chinese citizens or foreign residents to embark to China.

Those who arrive in China from abroad must also comply with a 14-day quarantine, in facilities designated by the Chinese Government, and another seven at home. In Beijing, the quarantine period at designated centers is 21 days.

The Asian country, where covid-19 appeared in December 2019, was the first to contain the outbreak, so it began to fear a resurgence due to cases from abroad, especially Chinese people trying to return to the country.

The Angolan embassy in Beijing informed, last April, that the two countries are preparing to open a direct connection between Luanda and Changsha, a city in central China, at a time when the shortage of air connections makes it difficult to return home of Chinese citizens living in Africa.

The flight would be carried out by the airline TAAG - Linhas Aéreas de Angola. However, there is still no set date for the inauguration of the flight.
